If you are a single person who is thinking about renting an apartment, you might be looking into studio apartments or one-bedroom apartments. Although this might seem like it makes the most sense, you might want to look for a two-bedroom apartment instead. This might be ideal for these reasons and more.

Have the Option to Have a Roommate

Right now, you might like the idea of living alone. At some point in the future, though, you might decide to take on a roommate so that you will have someone to keep you company and so that you can cut down on your living expenses. If you choose a two-bedroom apartment right now, you don't necessarily have to look for a roommate right away. However, you will then have space for a roommate if you choose to have one later.

Create an Area for Guests

If you have overnight guests from time to time, you might find that it's difficult to accommodate them in a smaller apartment. If you have a second bedroom, however, you can set up a nice guest room. Then, when you do have overnight guests, you won't have to worry about where they will stay.

Have Additional Storage Space

In a one-bedroom apartment or studio apartment, storage space is often minimal. A second bedroom can provide you with more space for storing holiday decorations, unused furniture, clothing that you don't wear regularly, or grocery items that you have stockpiled. Then, you won't have to worry about feeling so cramped in your apartment.

Give Yourself the Opportunity to Work From Home

If you work from home or if you would like to be able to work from home at some point in the future, then you might want to ensure that you have ample space in your apartment. If you have a second bedroom, you can set up a desk and anything else that you might need for working from home.

Create a Craft Room

If you enjoy working on crafts, you might know how important it is to have plenty of room to spread out. If you choose a two-bedroom apartment, you can turn the extra bedroom into a craft room. Then, you'll have lots of space for setting up a work area and storing all of the essentials that you need for making your arts and crafts.

As you can see, there are a few reasons why it might be a good idea to look into a two-bedroom apartment instead of a one-bedroom or studio apartment even if you are someone who lives alone. Luckily, there are a lot of great two-bedroom apartments out there, and many of them are pretty affordable. Start checking out the two-bedroom apartment options in the complexes in your area, or consider talking to a real estate agent or property manager for more advice.
